The Real African Life Style

My name is Joseph Mbwaga Director of Help The Orphans Foundation in Morogoro Region in Tanzania, Africa.

After several years of neglect, at the age of 15 I left my home of Igamba Village, with the hope of finding more support and a better future elsewhere. While I was living through villages, everyday getting food from trash piles and sleeping under trees, I finally found myself in Kibaha, living on a cargo train roof. There I started using my special music skill to make a living, I found a job as a pianist at the local church, in exchange they provided me a place to sleep. A Sunday, while I was playing in the church, I met an Australian man who would forever change my life. After taking knowledge about my homelessness, this gentleman kept me under his wing and he paid the fees for my secondary school. Thanks to his generosity, I went to school but I didn’t  manage to graduate, as unfortunately he passed away because of cancer and I couldn't afford anymore to pay my school fees. But I didn't give up and I decided to teach myself English and IT skills. After a while I successfully opened an internet cafe and a little IT shop in Kibaha. At that time I was living with my wife and my children, however, I felt the need to come back to Igamba Village and help others orphans like I was, in the same way I was helped by a stranger sent by God who completely changed my life.
Thus, I create the "Help the Orphans Foundation", and thanks to the generousness of local people and volunteer we already built up the orphanage's structure. Many kids are already onsite and using the orphanage but there are still a lot of material missing, from mattresses, bed settings, chairs, windows, etc. I know that volunteer and tourists help and generosity can make the difference, therefore I hope to get everything we need soon so that these children don't miss anythings more. I knows first hand, how far a little generosity can go for those in such desperate situations.

I decided to start this new project "The Real African Experience" so that we can both enjoy  cultural exchange and the beautiful of our wonderful African country, Tanzania.

This is a project which else involves the construction of the African Chattels, accommodation of foreigners short term volunteers / missionary who visit Tanzania.

We else opened a fundraising to try to get some support for our orphanage, following the link:
